No. Memoket Gem only records when you press the Record button. A solid red indicator light shows that recording is in progress. Press the Record button twice to stop recording.

To power off Gem, turn it off from the Device Management page in the Memoket app. One long vibration confirms that Gem has powered off.

To perform a hard restart, hold the Record button for 12 seconds or more. Two long vibrations confirm the restart. The indicator lights will turn off, then show solid blue while Gem boots back up.

After each recording, you choose how you want it broken down:

• Brief: a quick overview with continuity to past conversations, actions, and decisions
• Summary: a structured overview of the key points and outcomes
• One-Pager: a clean, shareable single-page snapshot of the conversation
• Transcript: line-by-line verbatim record

This is the core of what makes Memoket different. After a recording is processed, the app identifies the topics discussed. If those topics came up in previous recordings, no matter how long ago, it automatically adds a "Context with Earlier Discussions" section at the end, with a source link back to the original conversation.

Memoket can connect with tools including ChatGPT, Claude, Notion, and Slack. Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries can become part of your existing workflow.

No. You can download the app and start using the software features right now. The Gem hardware unlocks the full experience, but it's not required to get started.

You do. Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and AI-generated content belong to you and only you.

Under normal operations, no one at Memoket or any third-party provider reviews, monitors, or listens to your content. The only exception is if you voluntarily submit content to us, for example when reporting a problem through the app. In that case, our team can access that specific submission to help resolve your issue. Without that action from you, we cannot see or use your recordings.

No, not by default. Your recordings are never used to train AI models without your consent. If you choose to opt in, Memoket may use your data to improve personalization and features. This is always your choice and never the default.

Recordings are removed from Memoket Gem after they have been successfully synced to your phone.

Unpairing Gem permanently deletes any recordings that remain stored on the device. These recordings cannot be recovered.

Recordings transfer automatically via Bluetooth whenever Gem is connected to the app, including when the app is running in the background. For longer recordings, Boost Mode (Wi-Fi Fast Transfer) can be enabled manually.

Recordings are removed from Gem after they are successfully synced to your phone. Unpairing Gem permanently deletes any recordings still stored on the device. These recordings cannot be recovered.

Yes. You're in full control of your data at all times. You can delete individual recordings or your entire account history from within the app whenever you want.

Yes, always. A red LED on the side of the device lights up the moment you start recording and stays on until you stop. There is no silent or hidden recording mode. Everyone in the room can see it.

We ran two rounds of the founding member beta in April and May 2026. The first round was on our own website, the second on Product Hunt, where we also finished #1 Product of the Day. The goal was to get Memoket Gem into the hands of real users before mass production. We set out to find 100 founding members. We ended up with 500+.

Beta units are fully functional. Audio capture works perfectly. Some units have intermittent haptic feedback, meaning the buzz confirmation after pressing the button may not always fire. That's a beta-only issue and will not be present in mass production units shipping in August 2026.
